i could have lied comfortably in my new hammock, in its indescribably wonderful woven colors — from Dan, when he asked me if i wanted to see some photo and artsy-fatsy exhibit in UP. it was an invitation he got from Fritz. so i went. i couldn’t really be alone sleeping in a hammock in their garden, lest i want tambay eyes feasting (and pesting) on me.

there we went to my favorite college (aside from my homebase CMC) Fine Arts, where i could only pray so hard to be registered in.

lots of photos, paintings, murals, papiertole, mosaic, and all those other things i didn’t really know how to call.

FA made me realize the things i am unable to do. really not an FA person. made me smile too. i am a research-person. that made me feel better. i am the planner, the OC, the organized person. not the brush strokes, paper folding and cutting, not the portraits and still-life’s. so maybe Dan truly understands why i could only wonder in awe at the photographs he takes, why i could only appreciate and admire his craft, why i am just his avid fan. from time to time, i get a shot of inexplicably abstract creativity, though.

after Iris’ “resurgence,” we had the classic UP isaw. tee-hee-hee. we were on our way home when we passed by another art exhibit at Yshamel Bernal Gallery. seemed very elegant. we went in.

voila! same art-appreciative people we were with at Iris’ exhibit. different art works of course.

one word to describe the experience, surreal.

why? because that’s the only word i remember from the art appreciation class i took in college — Fine Arts 28. =) besides, it had been a nice time with Dan.

she took eggplant parmigiana, which i recommended though i don’t enjoy it myself. hey, i don’t eat eggplants. she REALLY enjoyed it. oh well, i’ve been hearing good reviews about that parmigiana even before.

i took pasta alfredo. not the usual. i’ve been stuck with beef lasagna or chix in a basket. so i tried ordering something new. it was ok. i just wish i stayed with lasagna.

and then we both had cheesecake. she ordered blueberry, i ordered chocolate chip. THE BEST. we so love cheesecake from ChoKiss. will definitely go back just for those fattening slices.

i missed eating there. UP. there’s always comfort in being at a familiar place.
